All ministries and programs of the Christian Church of Villa Park are open to anyone who wishes to participate. They provide opportunities to get to know others within the church community and to share and learn from one another .

Saturday Morning Prayer Group
This group meets at 8:00 am on Saturday mornings in the church library to provide an opportunity for group prayer in addition to Sunday worship. Each week the group studies a different passage in the Bible, and individual insights on the passage are shared. Using the passage, the group prays for individuals as well as for the church. Joys and concerns are shared and faith questions are discussed. This group is open to everyone, regardless of where you may be on your faith journey or how familiar you are with the Bible.

| Adult Sunday School/Bible Studies |
The Adult Sunday School class is a great opportunity for open discussion and learning more about faith, the Bible and yourself.
Beginning in September, the adults will study from the Nooma series, a very popular series of DVDs from Rev.
Rob Bell. Rev. Bell is a brilliant preacher, and has a very inviting manner.

Children and Youth Education and Activities
Sunday School class for youth and children is held at 9:15 am on Sunday mornings. Part of the way through the Sunday morning worship service, children are invited to go to children’s church which includes a special age-appropriate lesson that is related to the sermon and Bible passages for the day. In the summer, children are invited to participate in a week long Vacation Bible School done in partnership with several other churches in Villa Park.
Youth activities have included service projects, including sponsoring the Christmas Giving Tree project during the Christmas season, group outings, and participation in youth events sponsored by our Regional church. Annually, the youth prepare and conduct one of our Sunday morning worship services.

“Meet the Disciples” Class
This class is scheduled quarterly for non-members and members interested in learning more about the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), our larger church denomination.
|
“A Time to Mourn” Group
This group is for folks who have lost loved ones and who are seeking support in managing their grief. The meetings are scheduled to meet the needs and availability of the current members of the group, but meet approximately once a month. If you would be served by being a part of this group, contact Rev. Kerry Waller at ccvppastor@yahoo.com.

| Mission Trips |
Each year since 2002, a group from the Christian Church of Villa Park has taken a week-long mission trip out of state to serve those in need. Mission Team members have found the experience to be eye opening and spiritually uplifting. In 2006, 2007 and 2008, the Mission Teams went to the Gulf Coast to help victims of the hurricanes with clean-up and rebuilding.

In 2009, our Mission Team traveled to Iowa to help victims of the floods and tornado in May 2008. Click here for reports on previous mission trips.

|
| Fellowship |
| We enjoy eating and celebrating together! We have parties and dinners to kick-off new programs, to celebrate the work of the Mission Team, to celebrate the results of a stewardship campaign, and sometimes, just to have fun. We had our first Gala and silent auction in November 2008. |
