We hope that this page will answer questions you may have about coming to our church for the first time.
|
Who are we?
- We celebrated the 50th anniversary of the founding of this church in 2007.
- We are part of the denomination Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), a mainline Protestant denomination.
- Everyone is welcome to worship with us and become part of our church community. You do not have to be from our denomination or come from any particular church background. We welcome believers in all stages of their faith journey

One of the many aspects of the Christian Church of Villa Park that I like is the mutual respect and warm affection that is shared without any reservation among members of our church community. This is the one quality that attracted my family and me to this church more than 10 years ago.

How do you get here?
- See the Contact Us page of our website for a map. We are located on Villa Avenue at Riordan which is one block north of Roosevelt Road. We are close to Elmhurst, Oakbrook Terrace and Lombard.
- The parking lot entrance is off of Riordan. Most people enter the church through the door off of the parking lot. Go to the opposite end of the hall for worship.

What should you expect during the Sunday worship service?
- Our services are a blend of traditional and contemporary. Lay people, including youth, participate with the pastor in leading the service.
- You don’t have to dress up. Some members like to get dressed up while others prefer to be casual. Either is accepted.
- We sing, pray, read Bible passages, greet one another, listen to music, share our joys and concerns, take an offering and hear a message from our Pastor, Kerry Waller.
Click here to read one of Pastor Waller's sermons.
- We have communion each week. Anyone who accepts Jesus Christ as his or her Lord and Savior is welcome to take communion. You do not have to be a member.
- An invitation is given every week for people to commit their lives to Christ and become a part of our church community.
- We often have refreshments after the worship service for meeting and greeting one another.
|
The highlight of my week is our Sunday morning worship service that is rich in spiritual content, well structured and nourishing.

What do we offer for children?
- Children are a special part of our congregation.
- Children join their parents in worship. There is a children’s sermon during the service, after which they may leave and attend children’s church. There is also Sunday School at 9:15 am.
- A nursery attendant is available during the worship service.
